Dual differential comparator for signal-chain designs
The TLC372MDR is a dual differential comparator from Texas Instruments' LinCMOS™ series, packing two independent comparators in a single 8-SOIC package. Each channel compares two analog inputs and outputs a digital level — a core building block for zero-crossing detectors, window comparators, and sensor threshold circuits. With a supply range of 4 V to 16 V single or ±2 V to ±8 V dual, it fits both single-rail and split-rail analog front-ends.
Output flexibility and power budget
The output stage supports CMOS, MOS, Open-Drain, and TTL logic levels — you can drive a microcontroller GPIO directly, or use the open-drain configuration to wire-OR multiple comparators on a shared pull-up. Maximum quiescent current is 400 µA per device, keeping the power budget tight for battery-operated gear. Each output can sink or source 20 mA typical, enough to drive a small LED or a logic input without a buffer. The wide operating temperature range from -55°C to 125°C covers industrial enclosures and under-hood automotive environments.
It is ROHS3 compliant, so it meets current EU substance restrictions without exemption expiry concerns.
