Quad comparator with open-drain outputs — fits battery and industrial rails
The Texas Instruments TLC339IDR is a quad general-purpose comparator built on the LinCMOS™ process. It packs four independent comparators into a 14-SOIC package, each with an open-drain output stage. The supply range spans 3 V to 16 V, single or dual. Maximum quiescent current is 125 µA for all four channels. Input bias current is 5 pA typical at 5 V. Propagation delay maxes at 4.5 µs. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
Open-drain output — wired-OR and level translation
Each comparator's output is open-drain, rated for 20 mA typical sink current. That lets you wire multiple outputs together for a wired-OR configuration, or pull up to a different voltage than the comparator supply. The CMOS output stage also means rail-to-rail output swing when used with a pull-up resistor.
