Where the specs matter for your BOM
The 0.7 pA input bias current is a strong advantage in high-impedance circuits such as photodiode amplifiers or pH probe buffers, where leakage from the input stage would otherwise dominate the error budget. The 290 µV input offset is adequate for 12-bit systems with a 5 V reference; for higher resolution, a precision op-amp with lower offset would be needed. The 30 mA output drive can directly power small relays or LEDs without a separate buffer stage. The supply range of 4 V to 16 V covers common 5 V and 12 V rails, including automotive battery-derived supplies with transients.
The date-code and marking traceability should be verified upon receipt — the laser etch on the 8-SOIC body is a forensic fingerprint that confirms genuine TI origin.
