It delivers a 10 MHz gain-bandwidth product and a 19 V/µs slew rate, drawing 1.9 mA supply current while sourcing or sinking 57 mA per channel.
The 10 MHz gain-bandwidth product supports closed-loop gains up to 10 at 1 MHz with reasonable phase margin, adequate for audio-band processing, sensor amplification up to several hundred kHz, and active filter poles in the 100 kHz to 1 MHz range. The 19 V/µs slew rate keeps large-signal distortion low for output swings of several volts at frequencies above 100 kHz — a meaningful step up from slower general-purpose amps like the LM358 or TLV237x that struggle above 3 V/µs. Input bias current is 2 pA typical, so high-impedance sources (photodiode, pH probe, piezoelectric sensor) see negligible loading. Input offset voltage is 390 µV typical — acceptable for 12-bit precision at gains below 100, but a precision amp like the OPAx188 would be a better fit for microvolt-level signals.
Temperature grade and environment
It belongs in indoor benchtop gear, consumer electronics, and office equipment — not in automotive engine bays, outdoor telecom cabinets, or factory-floor enclosures where ambient can hit 85°C or higher. For extended-temperature designs, TI offers the TLC081AID (industrial -40°C to 125°C) in the same 8-SOIC footprint.
Lifecycle and compliance
Active product status per TI's current lifecycle record. ROHS3 compliant. The 8-SOIC package ships in Tube form (standard for this order code).
