Automotive-grade adjustable shunt reference
This is the automotive-grade sibling of the standard TL432, sharing the same pinout and basic function but with AEC-Q100 stress qualification and extended temperature coverage. It is designed for shunt regulation in power supplies, feedback loops in DC-DC converters, and precision reference generation in automotive ECUs, battery management systems, and infotainment modules.
The 100 mA output current capability allows this shunt to drive the optocoupler LED in a secondary-side feedback loop for supplies up to several hundred watts, or to sink enough current to bias a pass transistor for higher-current regulation. The 700 µA minimum cathode current sets the lower bound for the bias resistor — below that the reference drops out of regulation, so the design must ensure the cathode current stays above 700 µA at all operating points, including light-load conditions. For a 2.5 V reference, ±1% means ±25 mV — tight enough for most automotive feedback loops without a trim pot.
SOT-23-3 footprint and reel packaging
Housed in a standard SOT-23-3 (TO-236-3, SC-59) surface-mount package, the TL432AQDBZRQ1 uses the same three-pin layout as the TL431 family: cathode, anode, and reference. The package is compatible with standard pick-and-place and reflow profiles. Available on Tape & Reel or Cut Tape — the reel option suits high-volume automated assembly lines.
