Precision shunt reference for industrial and automotive rails
It provides a 2.495 V reference between the REF and ANODE pins, with the output voltage programmable up to 36 V using two external resistors. The ±1% tolerance on the reference voltage suits precision power supply feedback loops, isolated DC-DC secondary-side regulation, and voltage monitoring circuits where tighter than the standard ±2% grade is needed without moving to a 0.5% device.
Output current and cathode current — sizing the bias resistor
Rated for 100 mA continuous output current, the TL432AQDBVR can sink enough current to drive the optocoupler LED in a feedback loop or pull down a pull-up resistor in a window comparator. For a typical 5 V rail feeding the cathode through a 1 kΩ resistor, the bias current lands around 4.3 mA — well above the 700 µA minimum and leaving headroom for the optocoupler current.
