Shunt reference in a SOT-23-5 — what you are getting
It delivers a nominal 2.495 V reference with ±1% tolerance, adjustable up to 36 V via an external resistor divider. The SOT-23-5 package is a common five-pin footprint for this function class.
100 mA cathode current — what it buys you
The device sinks up to 100 mA continuous cathode current. That is enough to bias an optocoupler LED in a feedback loop or drive a small load directly, but it is not a power regulator — the shunt dissipates (V_KA × I_K) as heat, so the SOT-23-5 junction limits the practical continuous current below 100 mA at elevated ambient. Minimum cathode current is 600 µA, which sets the lower bound on the bias resistor value. Below that the reference may drop out of regulation.
The TL432ACDBVRE4 is listed as obsolete. For new designs or replacement, the TL431 (same function, different pinout) is a common cross-shopped alternative — confirm the pin configuration against your layout before substituting.
