Why the tighter tolerance and 150°C rating matter for your BOM
The TL431LIBEDBZRQ1 is an automotive-grade (AEC-Q100) adjustable precision shunt reference from the TL431 family, but with a ±0.5% tolerance and a 150°C maximum operating temperature that the standard commercial-grade TL431 does not carry. For an under-hood ECU or a transmission control module where the reference voltage drift directly shifts the ADC reading or the comparator threshold, the tighter tolerance buys you margin against temperature and aging without adding a trim pot or a second reference.
Reference voltage and output range
The internal reference is fixed at 2.495 V (minimum output), and the output can be adjusted up to 36 V using an external resistor divider. The 15 mA output current capability and 600 µA minimum cathode current define the operating window: the divider current must exceed 600 µA to keep the shunt biased, and the total load plus divider current must stay under 15 mA.
Supplied in a SOT-23-3 surface-mount package (also known as TO-236-3 / SC-59). The SOT-23-3 footprint is common and well-supported by standard PCB assembly processes.
It is listed under the Automotive, AEC-Q100 series, which implies the part has been qualified to the AEC-Q100 stress tests for automotive-grade ICs.
