Precision grade for tighter regulation loops
The B-grade suffix denotes a ±0.5% initial tolerance on the reference voltage, tighter than the A-grade's ±1% typical. In a precision supply or ADC reference circuit, that 0.5% headroom reduces the need for trimming and keeps the output within spec across temperature and load. The shunt topology means it can sink or source current through the cathode, so it works equally well as a shunt regulator or as an error amplifier in an isolated flyback converter.
