±0.5% tolerance — precision-grade shunt reference
The TL431BIDBVRG4 is a precision adjustable shunt voltage reference with a ±0.5% tolerance on the 2.495 V internal reference. That tolerance band is tighter than the standard TL431's ±2.2% or the 'I' grade ±1%, making this variant suitable for applications where the reference voltage accuracy directly affects system calibration — such as in power-supply feedback loops, data-acquisition reference rails, or comparator thresholds. The output is adjustable from 2.495 V up to 36 V using two external resistors, covering the common 3.3 V, 5 V, 12 V, and 24 V rail regulation needs.
100 mA output, 700 µA cathode current — load and bias range
The device can sink up to 100 mA of continuous cathode current, which sets the maximum load the shunt regulator can support. The minimum cathode current is 700 µA — below that the reference loses regulation.
SOT-23-5 footprint — package and layout
This is a five-pin surface-mount package on 0.95 mm pitch, compatible with standard SOT-23-5 land patterns. The Tape & Reel (TR) packaging option is the only listed format.
