Automotive-grade shunt reference for harsh environments
It provides a ±1% tolerance reference voltage from 2.495 V up to 36 V, with a 100 mA output current capability and a minimum cathode current of 700 µA.
Output range and bias current — sizing the operating point
The 2.495 V minimum output is the internal bandgap reference; the upper limit of 36 V lets the part regulate directly from a 12 V or 24 V automotive rail without a pre-regulator. The 700 µA cathode current sets the minimum bias through the device — the resistor from cathode to the supply rail must be sized to deliver at least this current over the full input voltage range. Output current is rated to 100 mA, which covers driving an optocoupler LED in a feedback loop or supplying a small local reference rail. The SOT-23-3 package limits power dissipation; for continuous loads near 100 mA, check the junction temperature at the maximum ambient of 125 °C.
