Active production PWM controller for single-ended supplies
The TL3842BP: It supports boost, flyback, and forward topologies with a single transistor-driver output, switching up to 500 kHz and a maximum duty cycle of 96% — the high duty ceiling is what makes it viable for flyback converters needing a wide input-to-output step-up ratio without cycle-skipping.
The Vcc range is 10 V to 30 V — the undervoltage lockout thresholds are set inside this band, so the bias rail must deliver at least 10 V before the controller starts switching. A 12 V or 15 V auxiliary winding is the typical source. This limits the TL3842BP to indoor, controlled-environment power supplies. An industrial or automotive design needing -40°C startup should look at the TL3842B IP grade variant.
8-DIP through-hole — legacy footprint, still socket-friendly
Supplied in tubes — the standard DIP shipping format for manual or wave-solder assembly lines.
Compliance and documentation
