Dual op-amp in an 8-DIP — what you are working with
The TL322CP: It delivers a 1 MHz gain-bandwidth product and a 0.6 V/µs slew rate, with each channel sourcing or sinking up to 30 mA. The supply range spans 5 V to 30 V.
Where this part fits — and where it does not
The through-hole 8-DIP package is a legacy footprint still common in breadboard prototyping, educational labs, and retrofit repairs on older PCB designs.
5 V single-supply operation — yes, it works
The TL322CP operates from a minimum supply of 5 V, so a single 5 V rail is within spec. At 5 V the input common-mode range and output swing will be reduced compared to higher supply voltages — the datasheet's typical curves show the limits. For a 5 V single-supply design, verify the input and output voltage ranges against your signal levels, especially if you need rail-to-rail performance (this part does not offer it).
Lifecycle and supply posture
It is RoHS non-compliant, which matters for EU and other regulated markets — confirm your exemption or accept the non-compliant status.
