Current-mode PWM controller for boost, flyback, forward designs
The Texas Instruments TL2845D-8 is a current-mode PWM controller that supports boost, flyback, and forward topologies — a single part covers isolated and non-isolated power stages up to 500 kHz switching frequency. The 48% maximum duty cycle limits the on-time per cycle, which matters for flyback designs where the transformer reset voltage sets the maximum duty before core saturation.
Supply rail and temperature envelope
Operating from 7.6 V to 30 V on Vcc, the TL2845D-8 starts cleanly from a 12 V bias rail and tolerates the ripple of a bootstrap winding in a flyback without an external LDO.
