Switching frequency and control flexibility
The oscillator runs from 1 kHz to 500 kHz, settable with external R-C components. At the low end you get clean switching for noise-sensitive analog sections; at the high end you shrink magnetics and output capacitors. The frequency control pin gives you the option to synchronise to an external clock if needed — though the part itself has no internal clock-sync feature, so for multi-phase designs you'll want to drive the RT/CT pin from a master oscillator.
Temperature grade and operating environment
Rated for -20°C to 85°C ambient, this part fits commercial and light-industrial environments — indoor power supplies, base stations, test equipment, and appliance control boards. It is not specified for automotive under-hood or extended industrial (-40°C) use; if you need that, the LM5150QURUMRQ1 carries AEC-Q100 qualification and a -40°C to 150°C junction range, though it is a single-output boost controller with a different feature set.
Lifecycle and sourcing
Texas Instruments lists the TL1451ACNS as Active with ROHS3 compliance.
