The TL084HIDR operates from a single supply as low as 4.5 V up to 40 V, or from dual supplies of ±2.25 V to ±20 V. That 4.5 V minimum means it runs cleanly from a 5 V rail without a boost converter, while the 40 V ceiling covers industrial 24 V and 36 V rails with margin. Each of the four amplifiers can source or sink 26 mA — enough to drive a 2 kΩ load to within a couple of volts of the rails, or to directly feed the input of a successive ADC without an extra buffer stage. Supply current per amplifier is 937.5 µA typical. For a quad part that is under 4 mA total quiescent — low enough that a 24 V loop-powered transmitter can run the whole amplifier section without exceeding the loop budget.
Temperature grade and package — board-level fit
The H suffix in the order code denotes this extended temperature grade, distinguishing it from commercial-temperature TL084 variants.
For dual-sourcing resilience, the TL084 family is second-sourced by multiple manufacturers; the TL084CN in PDIP-14 is a through-hole sibling, but the HIDR suffix specifically identifies the surface-mount, extended-temperature variant.
