JFET quad op-amp for multichannel signal conditioning
The TL084CDR is a JFET-input quad operational amplifier from Texas Instruments, packing four independent amplifiers in a single 14-SOIC package. Each of the four channels draws 1.4 mA from the supply rail, keeping the total quiescent current under 6 mA for the package — a practical fit for multichannel data acquisition systems where per-channel power budgets are tight. The JFET input stage delivers a typical input bias current of 30 pA, which matters when the front-end interfaces with high-impedance sensors or photodiode transducers where bias current errors would otherwise dominate the offset budget.
Operating from a single supply span of 10 V to 30 V (or ±5 V to ±15 V split supplies), the TL084CDR covers the standard industrial analog rail range. The 3 mV typical input offset voltage is adequate for general-purpose signal chains; for precision DC-coupled paths below 1 mV offset, a chopper-stabilized or auto-zero amplifier would be a tighter fit.
