JFET input stage sets the signal-conditioning baseline
The TL082IPG4 is a dual JFET-input operational amplifier from Texas Instruments, built around a classic bipolar/JFET topology that gives it a 30 pA typical input bias current and a 3 MHz gain-bandwidth product. The JFET front end keeps the input impedance high, so it loads the source minimally — useful when the signal comes from a high-impedance transducer or a photodiode without a separate buffer.
The 13 V/µs slew rate sets the large-signal frequency ceiling. The 3 MHz gain-bandwidth product governs small-signal response. Supply current is 1.4 mA per amplifier, totalling 2.8 mA for both channels. That keeps the thermal rise low in the 8-DIP package and makes the part viable for multi-channel boards where every milliamp counts.

The through-hole package with 0.300" (7.62 mm) body suits breadboard bring-up, socketed evaluation, and designs where the PCB is single-sided or manually assembled.
