AEC-Q100 dual JFET op-amp — the automotive-grade TL082
The TL082IDRQ1 is Texas Instruments' automotive-qualified version of the classic TL082 dual JFET-input operational amplifier, carrying AEC-Q100 stress qualification and PPAP support for production automotive programs. It packages two JFET op-amps in a single 8-SOIC body (0.154-inch / 3.90 mm width) for surface-mount assembly. The Q1 suffix is the tell: this is not a standard TL082 pulled from a commercial reel and screened — it was manufactured and tested on an AEC-Q100 flow, meaning the wafer fab, assembly, and test lots are qualified to automotive defect levels and temperature extremes.
3 MHz GBP and 13 V/µs slew — signal-chain headroom
At a closed-loop gain of 10, the small-signal bandwidth is about 300 kHz — enough for anti-aliasing filters on automotive sensor outputs (pressure, temperature, position) that run below 100 kHz. Supply current is 1.4 mA per amplifier — 2.8 mA total for the dual channel — which keeps the thermal rise low in the SOIC-8 package and fits the tight power budget of a 5 V or 12 V automotive rail shared with a microcontroller and other analog front-end channels.
The supply range spans 7 V minimum to 36 V maximum, which covers the common automotive battery rails: 12 V nominal (9 V to 16 V operating) and 24 V truck systems. The JFET input stage gives 30 pA typical input bias current, so the part can interface with high-impedance sensors (piezoelectric, photodiode, pH probes) without loading the source.

SOIC-8 footprint — board-level fit
The 8-SOIC package is the standard narrow-body SOIC-8 with 1.27 mm pin pitch. The footprint is identical to any industry-standard SOIC-8 op-amp — no PCB layout change needed when replacing a commercial-grade TL082 with this automotive Q1 variant.
