The TL082IDR is a dual JFET-input op-amp from Texas Instruments, the workhorse TL082 series in an 8-SOIC package.
JFET input – picoamp bias for high-impedance sources
Input bias current is 30 pA typical, a direct benefit of the JFET front end. That makes the TL082IDR a natural fit for photodiode transimpedance amplifiers, pH probe buffers, or any circuit where the source impedance is in the megaohm range and a bipolar op-amp's nanoamp bias would create an unacceptable voltage offset across the source resistance.
Supply range and per-channel current
Each amplifier draws 1.4 mA quiescent, so the dual package consumes about 2.8 mA idle — low enough that thermal rise in the SOIC-8 is negligible even in a still-air enclosure. Output can source or sink 10 mA per channel, enough to drive a typical ADC input or a 2 kΩ load to within a couple of volts of the rails.
That covers most factory automation, outdoor telecom, and instrumentation applications without needing an extended-range or military-grade device. The 8-SOIC footprint is standard and widely second-sourced.
