Dual JFET op-amp in a compact 8-TSSOP
The JFET input stage delivers 30 pA typical input bias current, which keeps offset drift low when the source impedance is high — a common requirement in photodiode amplifiers, precision integrators, and active filters where a bipolar-input op-amp would load the signal. The dual-channel configuration in a single 8-pin TSSOP saves board area compared to two single op-amps, while the 1.4 mA per-channel supply current keeps the thermal budget modest in a small package.
The TL082CPWG4 operates from a total supply span of 10 V to 30 V — that is ±5 V to ±15 V with split rails. The 10 mA per-channel output current is enough to drive a headphone load or the feedback network of an active filter, but not a low-impedance speaker or relay coil without a buffer stage. For sub-millivolt precision, a chopper-stabilised or auto-zero amplifier would be needed.
It is not qualified for automotive under-hood or industrial motor-drive environments where the ambient exceeds 70°C.
It can be specified into new-production BOMs without the near-term supply risk that comes with an NRND or EOL part.
