JFET quad op-amp for signal-conditioning chains
The TL074BCDRG4 is a quad JFET-input operational amplifier from Texas Instruments. Each amplifier draws 1.4 mA supply current, so the full quad runs at 5.6 mA quiescent — a reasonable budget for a four-channel signal-conditioning block on a mixed-signal board.
Rated for supply spans from 10 V to 30 V (single or split), the TL074BCDRG4 fits into ±5 V to ±15 V rails common in analog designs.
JFET input — low bias current matters
Input bias current is 65 pA typical, a direct benefit of the JFET front end. That matters when the op-amp interfaces with high-impedance sources — photodiodes, piezoelectric sensors, or precision voltage dividers — where a bipolar input stage would inject enough current to shift the DC operating point. Input offset voltage is 2 mV typical, which is adequate for general-purpose amplification; designs that need sub-mV offset should budget for the TL074AC or a precision JFET op-amp family.
