Dual JFET op-amp for audio and precision analog
The 1.4 mA supply current per channel (both channels active) keeps the thermal budget modest in multi-channel boards.
Package and temperature grade — the footprint matters
The TL072CPSR comes in an 8-SOIC package with a body width of 0.209 inches (5.30 mm). That is the wider SOIC-8 footprint, not the more common 0.150-inch narrow SOIC-8. If your board layout was done for the narrow body, this part will not fit without a footprint change — the pad spacing is the same, but the mechanical outline overlaps adjacent components. This part is not rated for industrial enclosures or outdoor gear that sees -20°C or +85°C ambient.
The supply span is 10 V to 30 V total, meaning it runs on ±5 V to ±15 V dual supplies or a single 10 V to 30 V rail. The 3 mV typical input offset voltage is adequate for most AC-coupled and many DC-coupled circuits; if you need sub-mV offset, the TL072A or an auto-zero amp like the OPA188 would be a tighter fit.
