JFET input stage and what it means for the signal chain
The TL071CDR is a single JFET-input operational amplifier from Texas Instruments, part of the TL071 family. The JFET front end delivers 65 pA typical input bias current, which keeps the voltage error across high-impedance sources like photodiode or piezoelectric sensors well below the 3 mV input offset. With a 3 MHz gain-bandwidth product and 13V/µs slew rate, this op-amp handles audio-frequency signals and moderate-speed data acquisition without the slew-induced distortion that limits slower parts. The 1.4 mA supply current is a reasonable trade-off for the speed — it stays cool in a densely populated board.
Supply rails and temperature grade
That covers the standard ±12 V and ±15 V rails found in industrial analog front-ends. The surface-mount body places cleanly with no tombstoning risk at the standard SOIC land pattern.
Supplied in Tape & Reel packaging, it is ready for automated pick-and-place assembly. The base product number TL071 shares a common pinout across the family, so swapping between the CDR, CD, or other suffix variants in the same package is a direct BOM substitution as long as the temperature grade matches.
