J-FET op-amp for through-hole analog designs
The Texas Instruments TL071ACP is a single J-FET input operational amplifier in an 8-pin DIP through-hole package.
The 13 V/µs slew rate defines how fast the output can swing under a large-signal step. For a 20 Vpp output at 20 kHz, that rate clears the required minimum by a comfortable margin, so audio band fidelity is not slew-limited. The 3 MHz gain-bandwidth product sets the usable closed-loop gain: a gain-of-10 stage stays flat to about 300 kHz. Below that, the J-FET input keeps phase errors low — useful for active filters or precision integrators where bias current drift would otherwise shift the DC operating point.
Package and sourcing — through-hole reality
Shipping in tube form (8-DIP, 0.300" body), not tape-and-reel. That is the expected format for through-hole insertion — pick-and-place lines need tube feeders or manual loading.
