50 Mbps RS-485 link in a 3×3 mm VSON
The Texas Instruments THVD1450DRBR is a half-duplex RS-485 transceiver that pushes 50 Mbps through a single differential pair, fitting into an 8-VSON (3x3) package with a wettable-flank option for AOI.
Supply flexibility and bus margin
The 30 mV receiver hysteresis cleans up slow edges on long cable runs, reducing the chance of noise-triggered bit flips. At 50 Mbps the driver slew rate is fast enough for high-throughput links like Profibus or DMX-over-RS-485, but the half-duplex architecture means the bus turnaround needs a dead-time gap in the protocol — factor that into the timing budget if you are used to full-duplex parts.
The 8-VDFN with exposed pad (3×3 mm) and wettable flank simplifies solder-joint inspection on high-reliability assemblies. Surface-mount only, no through-hole option.
