2.4 GHz bandwidth and 5500 V/µs slew rate — the signal chain fit
The Texas Instruments THS4302RGTR is a single-supply, general-purpose op amp in a 16-VQFN exposed-pad package, built for wideband signal conditioning where slew rate and bandwidth dominate the design budget. Its 2.4 GHz -3 dB bandwidth and 5500 V/µs slew rate place it in the class of parts used for RF/IF gain blocks, high-speed ADC drivers, and pulse amplification in test equipment and communications infrastructure. The 12 GHz gain-bandwidth product confirms the open-loop gain extends well beyond the small-signal bandwidth, so the designer can trade closed-loop gain for bandwidth without running out of loop gain at the target frequency.
Package and thermal — layout checklist for the 16-VQFN
Without that via stitch, the junction temperature rises quickly above 85°C ambient at the 180 mA output current capability. The small footprint leaves little room for decoupling — place a 0.1 µF and 1 µF ceramic as close as possible to the supply pins, with the ground return directly to the exposed pad.
