What this CAN transceiver does on the bus
It supports data rates up to 5 Mbps, which covers classic CAN (up to 1 Mbps) and CAN FD (flexible data-rate) frames. The receiver includes 120 mV of hysteresis to reject bus noise, a practical margin when the cable runs through a noisy factory floor or under-hood harness.
No lab bench required for a swap if you have a steady hand and a soldering iron.
The base product number is TCAN1051, so any variant in that family shares the same core silicon and pinout.
