CAN FD transceiver for 5 V automotive buses

At 8 Mbps the TCAN1044AVDRBRQ1 supports CAN FD (flexible data-rate) payloads beyond the classic 1 Mbps CAN 2.0 limit. The half-duplex architecture means the bus direction flips between transmit and receive — standard for CAN — so the data rate is a physical-layer ceiling, not a sustained throughput figure. For a design moving to CAN FD, this transceiver matches the faster arbitration phase without changing the 5 V supply rail.
Package and rework — wettable flank matters
The wettable flank on the side of each terminal means the solder fillet climbs up the edge of the pad, making the joint visible to AOI and easier to inspect or touch up under a microscope.
