The 5 Mbps data rate covers the CAN FD fast-data phase without needing a separate high-speed transceiver. On a 500 kbps arbitration phase, the data phase can burst at 5 Mbps, cutting the payload transfer time for firmware updates or diagnostic logs. The 50 mV receiver hysteresis filters out bus ringing and common-mode noise that would otherwise trigger false start-of-frame bits on a long stub.
Package and footprint — 14-VDFN with wettable flank
The 14-VDFN exposed-pad package (also designated 14-VSON 4.5x3 mm) includes a wettable flank on the side terminals, which allows automated optical inspection (AOI) of the solder fillet after reflow — a requirement for automotive assembly lines that need to verify every joint.
No LTB risk for production ramps or new designs.
