69.6W mono or 37.2W stereo — the power rating that decides the load
The TAS5731MPHPR delivers 69.6 W into a 4 Ω load in mono mode, or 37.2 W per channel into 8 Ω in stereo — the output power figure that sets the speaker impedance and configuration for the BOM. A single 4 Ω subwoofer or a pair of 8 Ω satellites both fit within the same device, selected by the I²C control interface.
Supply rails and thermal envelope
Operates from a 3 V to 3.6 V supply, which means a single 3.3 V rail powers the entire amplifier — no separate high-voltage bus needed. The 0°C to 85°C ambient range covers indoor consumer and commercial audio gear but not automotive or extended industrial environments. Housed in a 48-HTQFP (7x7 mm) package with an exposed PowerPAD — the thermal pad must be soldered to a copper plane on the PCB to keep the junction temperature within limits at full output. The 48-PowerTQFP footprint is the same; the datasheet's land pattern is the reference.
Integrated protection and digital audio interface
Short-circuit and thermal protection are built in — no external clamp or sense resistor required on the output stage. The digital inputs accept I²S audio data directly, and the I²C bus handles volume, mute, and depop control. The depop feature suppresses the turn-on thump that otherwise couples through the speaker.
