2W mono output — what the rating means for the speaker load
The 2W into 4Ω figure is the maximum continuous output power per channel at 10% THD — for a 4Ω speaker in a portable or IoT audio device, this drives a small enclosure to reasonable SPL without an external power stage.
Supply rail and interface — what the 1.5V–1.95V core means for the power tree
The 1.5V to 1.95V supply range is a dedicated core rail — this is not a general-purpose 3.3V or 5V audio amp. The system must provide a regulated 1.8V rail (typical) that can source the peak current during the 2W burst. I²C control handles volume, mute, and shutdown — no analog potentiometers or external gain-setting resistors are needed. The shutdown feature lets the host put the amplifier into a low-power state when audio is idle.
Package and thermal — board integration checklist
