LVDS driver for flat-panel display links
The Texas Instruments SN75LVDS83ADGGR is a 5-channel LVDS driver in the FlatLink series, designed to serialize parallel RGB data into a low-voltage differential signal for flat-panel display interfaces.
With 5 drivers and 0 receivers, this part is a pure transmit-side serializer. The five differential pairs carry up to 21 bits of parallel data (typically 18-bit RGB plus three control signals) over a single LVDS cable or flex. No bidirectional capability — the receiver side needs a complementary part like the SN75LVDS82.
3.3V supply — confirmed compatibility
No external regulator needed if the 3.3V rail is within tolerance. The LVDS outputs swing roughly 350 mV differential, compliant with the TIA/EIA-644 standard.
Rated for -10°C to 70°C operating temperature, this driver is specified for commercial and consumer environments — office equipment, digital signage, medical monitors, and home entertainment. Not rated for automotive (no AEC-Q100) or extended industrial applications where ambient exceeds 70°C.
56-TSSOP package — layout notes
Housed in a 56-lead TFSOP (TSSOP) with 0.5 mm pitch and 6.10 mm body width. Surface-mount only. No exposed thermal pad — the package dissipates through the leads and PCB copper.
