RS-485 transceiver with wide supply tolerance
It operates across a 3V to 5.5V supply range, making it suitable for both 3.3V and 5V bus nodes without a separate regulator. The 10 Mbps data rate supports high-speed industrial communication links such as Profibus or Modbus RTU over twisted-pair cabling.
Receiver hysteresis and signal margin
The receiver includes 35 mV of hysteresis, which improves noise immunity on long cable runs where ground potential differences can erode differential signal margin. For a 10 Mbps link, the hysteresis value is a design parameter for the minimum differential input voltage threshold — the datasheet's typical threshold is 200 mV, so the hysteresis adds a clean switching window without excessive offset.
Package and supply chain fit
Supplied in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) options, the 8-SOIC (0.154", 3.90mm width) footprint is a common industry standard that mates with existing PCB layouts for RS-485 transceivers. The surface-mount package allows automated assembly, and the commercial temperature grade (0°C to 70°C) confines use to indoor or climate-controlled environments.
