Dual peripheral driver with 300 mA open-collector outputs
The Texas Instruments SN75454BD is a dual-element peripheral driver designed to interface between 5V logic and higher-current loads such as relays, solenoids, lamps, or small motors.
Output current and open-collector topology
The 300 mA sink capability per channel is the headline rating that determines load-driving headroom. Open-collector outputs allow the user to connect external pull-up resistors or supply voltages independent of the driver's VCC, making it straightforward to drive 12 V or 24 V loads from a 5 V logic rail. The low-side drive (current sinking) is the intended mode; the high-side output current is not specified, so the part is not suited for sourcing loads directly.
Supply voltage and logic compatibility
Input thresholds are compatible with 5 V logic levels, so the SN75454BD can be driven directly from a 5 V microcontroller or logic gate without level translation.
Lifecycle and compliance
ROHS3 compliance covers the current regulatory requirements for lead-free assembly.
