RS-485 transceiver for 5V commercial bus lines
The Texas Instruments SN75176ADE4 is a half-duplex RS-485/RS-422 transceiver in an 8-SOIC package, integrating one driver and one receiver on a single 5V supply rail (4.75V to 5.25V). It includes 50 mV of receiver hysteresis for noise rejection on differential bus lines.
TI no longer manufactures this exact suffix. For new production or repair of existing boards, the BOM line needs a replacement or a surplus-channel source. The base part number 75176 family has several active derivatives, but the 'ADE4' suffix indicates a specific lead-free, RoHS-compliant variant that is now end-of-life. Sourcing through independent distribution is the practical path for legacy builds.
Sourcing posture for legacy RS-485 sockets
Because this part is obsolete, standard distributor stock is depleted. For a BOM that cannot requalify a new transceiver, this is the channel to fill the line.
