Product details

Quad receiver for RS-422/RS-485 buses

The SN75175N is a quad differential line receiver designed for RS-422, RS-423, and RS-485 networks. It contains four independent receivers in a single 16-pin DIP package, with a single 5V supply rail (4.75V to 5.25V). Each receiver includes 50 mV of hysteresis to improve noise immunity on long or noisy bus lines.

Through-hole 16-DIP package and mounting

Housed in a 16-DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) through-hole package, the SN75175N is suited for prototyping, low-volume production, or applications where manual rework is expected. The through-hole format simplifies board assembly and inspection compared to fine-pitch SMT packages.

It is ROHS3 compliant, meeting current environmental regulatory requirements for lead-free soldering processes.

Frequently asked questions

Is SN75175N a receiver or a transceiver?

It is a receiver only — four independent receivers with no drivers on-chip. For a transceiver (driver + receiver), look at the SN75176B or SN75179B family.

What is the difference between SN75175N and SN75176N?

The SN75175N is a quad receiver (0 drivers, 4 receivers). The SN75176N is a single transceiver (1 driver, 1 receiver) with a different pinout and package option. They are not pin-compatible.
