Memory is configurable as 64K x 18 or 128K x 9 via the width-expansion pin, giving the system architect a single BOM entry that serves either a 9-bit or 18-bit data path without a board spin. First-word fall-through (FWFT) mode presents the first written word on the output bus without a read request — this cuts the initial latency to zero for streaming data paths where the first sample must arrive immediately after the write strobe.
