4-bit bidirectional shift register — what it does
The SN74S194N is a 4-bit bidirectional universal shift register from the 74S Schottky TTL family, designed for parallel-in/parallel-out operation. It can shift data left or right, load parallel data, or hold, giving it the flexibility for register-based storage, serial-to-parallel conversion, and barrel-shifter building blocks in TTL logic systems.
RoHS non-compliant — plan your solder profile
However, it is RoHS non-compliant (lead-bearing finish), so it requires a tin-lead solder process. If your assembly line is RoHS-only, you will need an exemption or a waiver to use this part.
Bulk packaging — handling note
For small-run or rework, bulk is fine, but for automated pick-and-place you will need to transfer to a feeder-compatible carrier. ESD-safe handling is assumed — the bulk format lacks the anti-static shielding of a sealed reel.
