Quad 2-input AND gate in SOIC-14 — what this part is
The TI SN74S08D is a 74S-series quad 2-input AND gate in a 14-SOIC package. It takes four independent AND gates, each with two inputs, and drives standard TTL loads. The 74S family uses Schottky clamping to reduce propagation delay — this part delivers 7.5 ns typical at 5 V into 50 pF, which keeps it fast enough for bus decoding, control signal gating, and address latching in 5 V digital systems. Supply range is 4.75 V to 5.25 V, the classic 5 V TTL rail. Outputs source 1 mA and sink 20 mA, enough to drive one or two standard TTL loads per gate. Operating temperature is 0°C to 70°C, so it fits indoor equipment, office gear, and benchtop instruments — not engine bays or outdoor cabinets.
7.5 ns propagation delay — timing margin in fast glue
Maximum propagation delay is 7.5 ns at 5 V and 50 pF load.
Active production — no LTB watch needed
