Output drive and supply rail headroom
The SN74LVTH541PW: The buffer sources 32 mA and sinks 64 mA per output, which is enough to drive a heavily loaded backplane trace or a bank of LED indicators without an external line driver. The asymmetric drive — stronger sink than source — matches the typical current demand of TTL-compatible inputs that pull more current when low. A 3.0 V or 3.6 V rail also stays within the operating window.
20-TSSOP footprint and board integration
The supplier device package is 20-TSSOP, so the land pattern is identical across the TI 20-TSSOP logic portfolio. Surface-mount assembly with a standard reflow profile; no exposed thermal pad to manage. The 0.173" (4.40 mm) width fits in tight channel spacings on a 1.6 mm PCB.
Temperature grade and 3-state bus isolation
The 3-state output lets multiple buffers share a common data bus; when the output enable is low, the outputs go high-impedance and the bus floats without contention.
