Supply voltage and signal-level translation
The 1.65 V minimum supply is the key spec for this part. It lets the transceiver run directly from a 1.8 V rail without a separate regulator, and the inputs are 5 V tolerant, so a legacy 5 V logic signal on the bus won't damage the device. At the high end, 3.6 V covers 3.3 V with margin for a noisy rail. The 24 mA drive stays consistent across the supply range, so a design sized for 3.3 V doesn't lose bus fan-out when the rail droops to 2.5 V during a brownout.
Package and rework — 20-SOIC
The 20-SOIC package (0.209" body width, 5.30 mm) is a standard gull-wing lead form with 1.27 mm pitch. The leads are wide enough to hand-solder with a fine tip, and the plastic body handles a standard 260°C peak reflow profile without issue.
Lifecycle and sourcing
It is ROHS3 compliant.
