20-TSSOP footprint and rework story
The SN74LVCH244APWR: Pin 1 is marked by a molded dot and a beveled corner on the top face; the orientation is unambiguous under a stereo microscope at 10×, so you won't flip it on reflow.
The 24 mA symmetric drive (both high and low) is enough to fan out to four 74LVC loads or drive a short backplane trace up to 50 pF at 100 MHz. The 3-state output lets multiple buffers share a data bus; the OE pin pulls the outputs into high-Z, so the bus floats cleanly when the buffer is deselected.
The 74LVCH series is a mature, high-volume logic family; second-source equivalents from Nexperia and ON Semiconductor exist but are not pin-for-pin drop-ins without verifying the BOM position.
