16-bit bus buffer with inverted logic and 3-state outputs
The Texas Instruments SN74LVCH16240ADGGR is a 16-bit buffer and line driver with inverting logic and 3-state outputs, organized as four independent 4-bit elements. It operates from a 1.65V to 3.6V supply, making it suitable for mixed-voltage digital buses where the I/O banks run at different core voltages. The 3-state outputs let multiple devices share a common data bus — the part goes high-impedance when the output enable is deasserted, so another driver on the same line can take over without contention.
Package and temperature grade for production boards
Housed in a 48-TFSOP (0.240", 6.10mm width) package, the SN74LVCH16240ADGGR is also supplied as a 48-TSSOP per the supplier device package. The 0.50 mm pitch TSSOP footprint is a standard logic package — layout guidelines are well established, and the part is compatible with automated optical inspection (AOI) processes. It covers most indoor equipment, telecom racks, and automotive cabin applications, but does not extend to the -40°C to 125°C range required for under-hood or engine-bay deployment. If the BOM calls for a wider temperature grade, a different variant in the 74LVCH family would be needed.
Lifecycle and compliance documentation
Because the part is active, it is sourced through authorized distribution channels.
