Automotive XOR gate with AEC-Q100 Grade 1 temperature range
The SN74LVC86AQPWRG4Q1: This temperature grade covers under-hood and engine-bay deployment where ambient heat soaks above 105°C are routine. Four independent XOR circuits, each with two inputs, implement the exclusive-OR function across a supply range of 2V to 3.6V. The 2V floor allows operation from a nominal 2.5V rail with margin, while the 3.6V ceiling accommodates a 3.3V supply with typical tolerance.
Propagation delay and output drive at 3.3V
Maximum propagation delay is 4.6 ns at 3.3V with a 50 pF load. This sets the data-rate ceiling for the XOR function: the delay plus the output rise time into the load capacitance determines the maximum toggle rate the downstream receiver sees. Each output sinks or sources 24 mA, enough to drive standard CMOS logic inputs or a single TTL load without external buffers. The 24 mA symmetric drive also keeps rise and fall times matched, reducing signal-integrity skew on short PCB traces. Quiescent current is 10 µA max across the full temperature range, making this part suitable for always-on automotive modules that must draw minimal current when the bus is idle.
