Dual D-Type flip-flop with 150 MHz toggle ceiling
The SN74LVC74APWR is a dual D-type flip-flop from Texas Instruments' 74LVC family, each element storing one bit with set and reset inputs. Positive-edge triggered, it toggles up to 150 MHz — the clock frequency ceiling is set by the process and supply, not the package. Outputs are complementary (Q and Q̅), each sourcing or sinking 24 mA. The 5.2 ns propagation delay at 3.3 V and 50 pF load sets the timing budget for the downstream logic — at lower supply voltages the delay stretches, so hold-time margin should be checked at the actual VCC. Quiescent current is 10 µA typical — negligible in a mixed-signal board where the flip-flop shares a rail with the MCU.
