Triple inverter for mixed-voltage and high-speed logic
The Texas Instruments SN74LVC3G04DCTR is a triple inverter from the 74LVC logic family, offering three independent inverter gates with a wide supply range of 1.65 V to 5.5 V. It is designed for general-purpose signal inversion in mixed-voltage systems, level translation, and oscillator circuits. The part is specified over the full industrial temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, making it suitable for outdoor telecom, motor drives, and engine-bay electronics. Each output can sink or source 32 mA, enough to drive a logic input or a low-current LED directly. Propagation delay is 3.2 ns at 5 V with a 50 pF load, which keeps the signal clean in clock distribution and data paths running up to tens of megahertz.
Supply voltage and input thresholds — mixed-voltage bridging
The 1.65 V to 5.5 V supply range lets this inverter bridge logic domains without an external level shifter. Input logic-low thresholds are 0.7 V to 0.8 V, and logic-high thresholds are 1.7 V to 2 V.
Package and footprint — SM8 (8-LSSOP/MSOP)
The SN74LVC3G04DCTR is supplied in the SM8 package, which is an 8-lead LSSOP or MSOP with a body width of 2.80 mm. It is a surface-mount package suited for dense PCB layouts. The mounting is surface mount, and the part is available in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) options for prototyping or production reels.
Lifecycle and sourcing
It is ROHS3 compliant.
