Configurable logic in a SOT-23-6 — what you're getting
The Texas Instruments SN74LVC1G98DBVT is a single-gate configurable multiple-function logic device from the 74LVC family. It's not a fixed AND or OR gate — it can be programmed to implement any of several logic functions (AND, OR, NAND, NOR, XOR, XNOR, inverter, buffer) depending on how you tie the three inputs. That makes it a board-level glue-logic part that replaces a handful of standard gates, useful when you need to fix a last-minute logic polarity change or add a simple decode function without respinning the PCB. The supply range spans 1.65V to 5.5V, so it works in 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V systems without a separate level translator. Output drive is a symmetrical 32mA source and sink — enough to directly switch a small LED or drive the base of a transistor through a limiting resistor.
Housed in a 6-pin SOT-23-6 (supplier device package SOT-23-6). Surface-mount only. The small footprint makes it a candidate for dense boards where you need a logic function but don't have room for a 14-pin SOIC gate package. No special thermal considerations at the drive levels this part handles — the 32mA output is well within the package's capability.
