What this 1:4 decoder/demux does for your address decode
It takes one data input and two address-select lines and routes the input to one of four active-low outputs. The 1.65V to 5.5V supply range lets it bridge 1.8V logic cores and 3.3V or 5V peripheral buses without a level shifter — a common need in mixed-voltage industrial control panels and battery-operated instrumentation.
The wide operating range is the headline feature. At 1.8V the part runs from a low-voltage MCU I/O bank; at 3.3V or 5V it matches legacy TTL or 5V-tolerant peripherals. The 74LVC family is specified for this entire span, so there is no derating curve to worry about when the rail droops during a battery discharge. The 8-VSSOP package (2.30mm width) fits tight PCB layouts where a larger SOIC or TSSOP would crowd the routing. Surface-mount assembly is standard; the tape-and-reel option (TR) suits automated pick-and-place, while cut tape (CT) works for prototype builds.
