The SM8 package (supplier device package code) is a 0.110-inch-wide, 2.80mm-body 8-lead SSOP or MSOP. The 0.65mm pin pitch is standard for fine-pitch SOP footprints, and the body is small enough to fit under a 0.5W resistor. No thermal pad is needed; the package dissipates through the leads. If your layout already uses 8-MSOP for op-amps or level translators, this part drops in with no board change.
